A Certain Shade of Green

This is from a short trip down to Ocracoke, NC in February. It is such a beautiful island. February is probably one of the few times to avoid the tourists. These shades of green were beautiful in the rain.

Working in the 3rd dimension

I don't usually work in the 3rd dimension. This box was created in a workshop, and I actually enjoyed working this way. I like the box format but I have trouble making it work for me.

Morning Activity

Crows love to come to the persimmon tree to dry out and preen just before sunrise.  They also discovered those delicious persimmons that stayed on the tree long after they usually do.  They must be like raisins now.  This tree is directly in front of our house so this is a daily observation.

Postage Collage

Who needs to make art when the mail looks like this?  Several packages came with these stamps and marks, and I couldn't resist adding them to my journal. A friend of mine lives in a very small town where they do not have a postage machine so it all has to be stamps....isn't that wonderful?  The coffee beans and coffee makers were part of junk mail that already had sticky backs on them....all I needed to do was cut them up.  This made me think back to Dada art.

My new Rickshaw folio for my Moleskine journal

This is my new folio for my journal....it is not only beautiful but very functional.  You can see the clear back pocket for storage and in the front are slots for pens.  I am really enjoying it!  This was a prototype but they should be in production next month.  Check out their website:

Happy Valentine's

This is from one of my journals.  I think Valentines were probably the first art I ever made.  This is not really a Valentine but it brought back the memory of making Valentines.

First Snow!

Could not believe that there was snow on the patio this morning!  Granted it was not much but there it was on top of the fallen leaves.
