First Snow!

Could not believe that there was snow on the patio this morning!  Granted it was not much but there it was on top of the fallen leaves.

Apple Picking and the Persimmons

The Persimmon tree is loaded with fruit!  What does this indicate about the weather? Unfortunately heavy winds today and yesterday are knocking them down before they are ripe. They will just have to ripen in the house.  I will have persimmon bread and pudding for Thanksgiving!

When we go down to the apple tree, Luli always brings one apple back.  She really rather chase it as it rolls down the driveway than eat it.

Fall and those colors!

What is not to love about Fall and all the colors that arrive? Everything seems to be in red, orange, yellow....makes you want to paint!

Persimmons are not ripe yet, but the fruit is much prettier at this stage.

Nature Study right here at home

Take a good look before you pick up this crowbar!  I am glad Mother Nature sees fit to warn us.

In case you need to identify a Black Widow, these are the markings on the back of the body.....

....and these are the markings on the belly.  No, it probably won't kill you but from what I understand, you will be very, very sick.  It is an easy spider to identify.  This is the third one I have seen close to our house....all outside!

My little view of the world

Seems this is where I really like to be.....home. Looking out across to the mountains and below to the field and these trees.  The weather is very dry, no rain in sight....see how dry the field looks.

Right outside the new glass doors!

I don't do any gardening so I am happy to have a few things that take care of themselves and attract butterflies.

Thought it might be a good time to post some journal pages.  I have some on my website also.  These examples show some of the methods I use.....drawings, photos, some watercolor.

Dee and Dum

Recent find at antique mall.....
Alice:  Oh! Why, what peculiar little figures!  Tweedle Dee...and Tweedle Dum!
Tweedle Dee:  If you think we're wax-works, you ought to pay, you know!
Tweedle Dum:  Contrariwise, if you think we're alive you ought to speak to us!

A year later......

Hard to believe it has been a year since I added to this blog. Don't think I will ever be a regular blogger even though I am an avid reader of blogs.
This is, of course, a British ad....if you have ever ridden in a British car in the rain you know you need this and more!!
